Ravishaan Rahel Muthiah is a strategic communications expert, human rights campaigner, organiser and speaker.
Ravishaan’s work is rooted in using campaigning, communications and community organising to build a fairer, just and discrimination-free world. His work includes leading record-breaking Parliamentary campaigns for Faiza Shaheen and winning Deputy Leadership campaigns for Angela Rayner at the Labour Party. At Greenpeace UK, he won campaigns against corporate giants and broke political mobilisation records when campaigning against Shell on the #StopCambo campaign. He also led Greenpeace International’s communications at COP26 - helping shift negotiations towards phasing out coal and fossil fuels. Ravishaan produced "Rigged: A workers' story", the winner of the Longform Charity Film of the Year 2022. At the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, he shaped the narrative on immigration, transformed strategic communications, campaigning and fundraising, while building partnerships across the sector.
Ravishaan is published in The Independent, iNews, New Scientist, Big Issue, Metro UK, Middle East Eye, Dazed and Huck Magazine. He has written on issues from climate migration, migrant workers, refugee homelessness, the Hostile Environment, UK race relations, the Qatar World Cup, Top Boy and Mo Farah’s trafficking revelation.
He has spoken on panels at The Conduit, Garden Court Chambers, Leigh Day Solicitors, given evidence at Parliamentary Select Committees and appears on National TV and International radio, including Al Jazeera, Sky News, BBC News, Channel 4 News, LBC, BBC World Service, BBC Radio 4 and NPR.
